Websites for therapists, counsellors and psychologists

Therapist website design that helps the right clients reach out

Most people looking for a therapist are nervous before they ever get in touch. Your website has a few seconds to show them they are in the right place. We write, design, build and host a site that does that, for solo practitioners and group practices, so you can get back to the work you trained for.

Why most therapy websites lose people before the first message

A lot of therapy websites were built in a weekend on Wix or Squarespace and never touched again. They tend to be written for other therapists, full of modalities and acronyms, when the person reading wants to know one thing: can you help with what I am going through, and what happens if I get in touch?

The other common problem is the next step. If booking an initial call means hunting for an email address, a lot of people close the tab and tell themselves they will do it next week.

  • Written for clients, not colleagues
  • Fees, availability and how sessions work, up front
  • One clear next step on every page
  • Easy to read on a phone, which is where most people find you

What we build for therapists, counsellors and psychologists

Solo practitioners, couples therapists, child and adolescent specialists, and group practices with several clinicians. Whether you are BACP or UKCP registered, a chartered psychologist with the BPS or HCPC registered, the site is built around how you work and who you see.

  • An about page that sounds like you on a good day
  • A page for each thing you help with, such as anxiety, trauma or relationships
  • Online, in person or both, made clear
  • An enquiry form or booking link that goes straight to you
  • Your registration and memberships shown where people look for them

Written for the person deciding whether to reach out

We write the pages with you rather than handing you a template to fill in. That usually means a short call where you talk about the people you work with, and we turn it into words that sound like you. You check everything before it goes live.

Good therapy copy is calm and specific. It describes what people are going through in their own words, explains what a first session looks like, and is honest about what therapy can and cannot do.

Prices, start to finish

What a therapist website costs

Practice suits most solo therapists. Grow suits group practices, or anyone who wants a separate page for each thing they help with.

Launch

£149 setup, then £29/month

One page done properly. For a practitioner who needs to exist online this month, not next quarter.

  • One professionally designed page
  • Written with you, in your voice
  • Enquiry form straight to your inbox
  • Mobile-friendly, fast, secure
  • Hosting, SSL and updates included
  • Content edits to existing pages, within 5 working days

Grow

£949 setup, then £59/month

10+ pages and the local SEO foundations, for a practice that wants to rank, not just exist.

  • 10+ pages, including condition or service pages that rank on their own
  • Everything in Practice
  • Local SEO foundations: structured data, directory listings, review setup
  • A quarterly check on rankings and what to do next
  • Content edits to existing pages, next working day

All prices are the full price. Start small and move up later by paying the setup difference.

What counts as an edit. Changing what is already on your site: wording, fees, services, hours, contact details, team, a photo swap. Included in your monthly fee, up to 2 requests a month on Launch and 4 on Practice, reasonable use on Grow. New pages, new sections, redesigns and new integrations are quoted separately, and moving up a tier is just the setup difference.

Full detail on every tier is on the healthcare website design page. Want a site you can edit yourself, or running a larger practice? See custom builds.

Ethics built in, not bolted on

Most therapy professional bodies discourage asking clients for testimonials, so we never build a site that depends on them. Trust comes from your training, your approach, clear fees and a warm, plain explanation of how you work. Outcome claims stay careful, and your registration details sit where people expect to find them.

For the wider picture on marketing within your code of ethics, our page on marketing for therapists covers it in full.

Works alongside Psychology Today and Counselling Directory

Directories are good at sending people your way. Your own website is where they decide. We make sure the two say the same thing, link to each other and use the same details, which also helps Google and AI search tools understand who you are and where you practise.

Who we are building for at the moment

We are currently redesigning the websites and running the SEO for House of Yoga Psychology, Dr Stephanie Minchin's practice, following a full website audit and a phased SEO plan. Much of our recent website work has come through recommendations from other psychologists.

Just starting out? Our free guide to starting a private therapy or psychology practice covers registration, insurance and finding your first clients.

Already have a site?

We keep your domain and move it across, so your address does not change, and we redirect every old page to its new home so nothing you have earned in Google is lost. If your current site does not rank for anything, we will tell you so plainly. We rewrite the content rather than copying it over, because the wording is usually the reason the old site was not working, and your old site stays live until the new one is ready.

Straight answers

Questions therapists ask us

Will my clients' information be safe?

The website only collects what someone chooses to send through your enquiry form, and that goes straight to you over a secure connection. We keep forms short and link to your existing practice software for booking and intake, rather than collecting clinical information on the website itself.

Can people book a first session online?

Yes. We connect the booking system you already use, such as Cliniko, Jane, WriteUpp, Semble, Calendly or Acuity, or set one up if you do not have one yet.

Do I still need my Psychology Today profile?

Keep any directory profile that brings you enquiries. Directories and your own site do different jobs, and we make sure they match so people get the same picture wherever they find you.

How long does it take?

Most of the time goes on agreeing the words with you. We give you a launch date on our first call and stick to it.

Can I edit the site myself?

Not on these plans. You tell us what to change and we do it, and edits to existing pages are included in your monthly fee. If you would rather edit it yourself, our custom builds on WordPress or Squarespace are the better route.

What happens if I want to leave?

There is no long contract. If you cancel, we help you move your site and domain elsewhere rather than holding them hostage. Your domain and your content are yours.

Tell us about your practice

A short call to hear what you do and where you are starting from. We will tell you which tier fits, including if it is the cheapest one.
